I know of a senior director who received public praise from a top government official for a project that the company had recently finished. The Chairman of the company was furious because he thought that it should have been him being praised. The senior director was psychologically abused for several months. When I last saw him, he was a shell of the man I knew, a walking ghost. He left the company shortly afterward.
