I have also experienced firsthand that job brokers or headhunters usually have only one goal: to close the position and invoice the customer for their retainer fee. They are inclined to present you for jobs that are not in your best interest and are happy to fake a rosy picture of the candidate (to the employer) and the company (to the candidate) to finalize their assignment.
