Job offer versus job contract

Do not forget that the job offer is just the offer, a piece of paper. The job contract is what is supposed to secure your rights. Usually, one signs a job contract without giving them enough attention. We all tend to assume that job contracts accurately reflect what is in the job offer. To my experience, this is often not the case. While the discrepancies are mostly manageable, there is a small risk that a dispute may arise from a potential difference in the job offer and contact. Preferably you should ask for the job contract and have it checked out by a lawyer before you sign off the job offer. Once you sign the papers, do not forget to collect your signed copy.
